What is Coaching?
Coaching is often defined in different ways. However, as an ICF-certified coach, I adhere to the International Coaching Federation (ICF) definition.

Coaching is not:
- Performance management: However, coaching indirectly influences performance.
- Mentoring: However, coaching may include elements of sparring at eye level but focuses on personal discovery.
- Training: While coaching incorporates models from theory, it is not a structured teaching program.
- Therapy: Coaching does not replace therapy but can complement personal growth efforts.
- Psychological treatment: Coaching is not curative but can be beneficial alongside professional mental health support.
- Psychological or life & social counseling: As a certified psychological counselor, I can integrate psychological insights into the coaching process when relevant.

How many sessions do I need?
It depends on your situation and goals. For specific challenges, I typically recommend three to five sessions. For bigger transitions or ongoing executive & leadership coaching, many clients book sessions every four weeks, as they find regular reflection highly valuable and enriching.
Can my company cover the costs?
Yes, corporate billing is possible. I am listed as Coach with several companies and providers – just get in touch to find out, what is applicable in your case. Further, many employers also reimburse privately paid invoices within a certain budget. Additionally, as I am also a Certified Life and Social Counseller the invoice of self-employed entrepreneurs registered in Austria applies for the so-called “Gesundheitshunderter” by SVS as service to fostering your mental health.
What is the difference between coaching, psychological counseling, and therapy?
- Coaching is typically goal- and solution-oriented, often focused on professional challenges.
- Psychological counseling is more process-oriented and supports individuals in navigating difficult life situations. It is preventive, helping to maintain mental well-being and avoid conditions like burnout or exhaustion.
- Psychotherapy & psychological treatment go beyond prevention and focus on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions.
Can I book coaching if I am already in therapy or psychological treatment?
In some cases, coaching can complement therapy, depending on your diagnosis and in agreement with your therapist or occupational psychologist. A clear separation of topics is recommended (e.g., processing past experiences in therapy, while focusing on future goals and daily life in coaching). This will be clarified in the initial session.
What is the difference between mentoring and coaching?
Mentoring involves sharing personal experience and advice and typically is conducted from different hierarchy levels, whereas coaching focuses on guiding you to develop your own solutions and is conducted at eye-level.
How long is a coaching session?
A standard session lasts 60 minutes. For more complex topics, 90-minute sessions are recommended to allow sufficient time for in-depth work and for coaching tools to unfold their full impact.
Can I book a session directly?
Yes, you can book via Calendly. The first session includes a mutual fit-check: If either party decides to end it within the first 20 minutes, the session fee is refunded. Alternatively, a free 15-minute introductory call is available to clarify expectations and determine if we’re a good match before starting.
I can’t find a suitable appointment in your booking calendar and would like to start soon. What can I do?
Please send me an email with your request. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible to see if there are alternative slots available.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
Sessions can be rescheduled or canceled free of charge up to 48 business hours in advance (via Calendly). Later cancellations are subject to the full session fee, as short-term availability cannot always be reallocated.
